Polynova is proud to present A Second Skin — an exhibition for Melbourne Design Week 2025 that reimagines how furniture and planters can live, breathe, and grow with us. This immersive showcase invites visitors to explore a modular collection of aluminium furniture and planters that embody the values of sustainability, adaptability, and circular design.
Born from a passion for transforming urban and outdoor environments, Polynova’s journey began with statement planters and outdoor features. Now, with an expanded vision, the brand brings its design expertise indoors, presenting a versatile range of modular pieces that effortlessly move between garden, living space, and even bathroom environments.
At the heart of A Second Skin is a philosophy that challenges conventional notions of permanence. Rather than static objects destined for eventual disposal, Polynova’s designs are crafted to evolve. Components can be updated, reconfigured, or repaired, offering a longer lifespan and a deeper connection to the objects in our everyday lives.
With bold geometric forms and dynamic colour combinations, each piece delivers visual impact while maintaining an unwavering commitment to environmental responsibility. Whether it’s a planter that transforms as your space does, or a sculptural form that adapts with time, this exhibition is a celebration of expressive and enduring design.
Polynova invites designers, architects, and conscious consumers alike to engage with the concept of transformation — to think beyond the object as it is, and imagine what it could become. In doing so, A Second Skin prompts a broader conversation: What if our furniture could adapt with us, instead of being replaced?
